Availability: Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. We have a limited staff capacity and the earlier we are contacted, the better. Lesson: Tree-Mendous Trees
Nature detectives hit the trail to uncover the life cycle of trees through games, role play, and guided observation. Our discovery includes investigations into seeds, saplings, adult trees, and fallen logs. Connections are made between fallen logs and soil production to bring the amazing cycle full circle. Some topics we did last year were winter adaptations and animal groups where we went through the basic characteristics of birds, mammals, and reptiles with the help of biofacts the students could hold and pass, and then made pinecone bird feeders to place outside.
We also have scholarships for Title 1 schools available. Our other programs can be found here: https://snco.org/learn-explore/educational-programs/k-12/
